This pair of Kintsugi artworks was inspired by the Japanese Art "KINTSUGI" or kintsukuroi, the art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold- built on the idea that in embracing flaws and imperfections, you can create an even stronger, more beautiful piece of Art. Using this as a metaphor for healing ourselves teaches us an important lesson: Sometime in the process of repairing things that have broken,we actually create something more unique , beautiful and resilient. I used my palette knives and brushes to create a beautiful depth and textures .I also used liquid gold leaf because the gold color plays an important role in every Kintsugi art.
